Frequently asked questions.
Why do I have to sign my dog up for an Introductory Hike?
We operate in a professional manner, booking your dog’s Introductory Hike is part of our business practice. We want to ensure your dog integrates into our established hiking groups and observe how they acclimate to our system. We dedicate ourselves to this business model to optimize the care of your dog. Once you sign up, we meet in person to become acquainted with your dog, discuss pick up and drop off instructions, answer any questions and explain what is to be expected during your dog’s first adventure.
How old must my dog be to sign up for hiking?
Your dog should be a minimum of 9 months of age to begin hiking.
Do hikes consist of a group, or are they for a single dog?
Hikes consist a small group of dogs. There will be no more than 5 dogs per group. If hikes aren’t booked to the 5 dog limit, there is opportunity for your dog to have their own personal hike.
Where are the hikes?
Our hikes take place in the surrounding landscape of Las Vegas Nevada. We hike BLM land, we hike Department of Forestry Land, we hike National Conservation Areas and wilderness areas. Some of these areas overlap or merge and we follow the rules put into place for use in each location. In some of these areas your dog will have to remain on leash, but many of them offer off-leash trail use. We hike responsibly and abide by the “leave no trace” principle.
I’m not sure if my dog is high-drive, but they have a lot of energy and athleticism, can they be signed up?
YES! High-drive defines a dog that is athletic with high energy needs and require mental and physical outlets to keep them happy and content. Our services are perfect for these dogs.
